    Exhaust gas temp sensor

My donor harness has what looks like a resistor jumpering the exhaust gas temp sensor connector. I assume this would normally plug into a sensor in the exhaust somewhere? I'm guessing my donor had an aftermarket exhaust that didn't have a place for that sensor so the PO did this to not get a code?

How important is this sensor? Is it common to do this?

    Thanks

I'm not too familiar with those since the later years didn't come with one but check this out:

Sounds like its more of an emissions thing rather than a tuning thing.

    Thanks
