FFR #8,515's Engine Is Going Off For Assembly This Weekend!

My Cobra with a different heart beat will soon get it's engine and & transmission.
This engine and transmission lost their way when it's owner (Our Beloved 1980 Z/28) drowned in Hurricane Katrina back in 2005.
Shown below are the MK-4's specs:

    1. 383 Small Block Chevy 9.7-1 Pump Gas Friendly Compression Ratio!
    2. Eagle Internally Balanced Rotating Assembly With 6" H-Beam Rods With Floating Forged Flat Tops.
    3. Dart Iron Eagle 215 CC Heads with 2.05 Intake & 1.60 Exhaust Valves.
    4. Comp Cam Extreme Energy 284 Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam
    5. Edelbrock 800 AVS Carb Feeding A Weiand 7530 Team G Single Plane Manifold.
    6. Schoenfeld IMCA Modified Headers & They Really, Really Fit! (But Stuff Had To Move A Bit)
    6. New Old Stock Corvette ZF 6-Speed Transmission With Hydraulic Clutch (Can You Say Double Over Drive?)
    7. 3.73 Moser TSD 500 Rear.
    8. Harland Sharp Roller Rockers

Before you purist give me a tough time, remember that we are all family here so don't be mean.
I lost a lot more than my car on August 29th, 2005, but unlike over 1,800 Louisianians, I didn't lose my life nor did I lose any family members so life is good. (Just A Job & Lots Of Stuff Instead)
Anyway, please know that I searched long and hard looking at other AC Cobra Replicas before picking Factory Five Racing
Dave Smith himself told me who to contact if I really, really wanted to build a Dark Side MK-4 and yes he tried to talk me out of it, but the heartbeat of my Z/28 had to live on.
    Anyway, I'm Pumped!

Great News From The Dark Side MK-4 Build!

The engine (383 SBC) is almost complete and is expected to be back home this Saturday!
The builder is none other than Mr. Boyd Breaux who has been building engines for a tad over 50 years.
Honored I am that this "Semi Retired Motor Magician" would consider doing the assembly for me.

It's all your fault and that's a good thing!
I really appreciate your website because it was my Bible.
It was a big part of me doing this Dark Side Chevy Cobra!

I'm doing exactly that and am trying to always consider function over form all while doing my best to KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) IT all at the same time.
The "Build Whatever Does It For You!" comment is exactly what the goal is.
Function, Form & Simplicity Is Always Priority #1!
Hope I measure up & will keep you all posted.
