Forget the gaskets and pick up a tube of Ultra Copper.
Trust me on this.

Throw them as far as you can, then use Jeff's suggestion.
So stay away from the gaskets and use the copper silicone?

Are you referring to the header to engine gasket or sidepipe to header gasket?
For the header to engine gasket look into the soft aluminum layered ones. I used those with a skim coat of the ultra copper shown above around each port and has been leak free for eight years.
