    Rear Tire Size

For the 289 FIA....will a 295/60-15 (Diameter =27" and Section Width = 12.8") work on the rear without modification?

    Thanks

I don't know if it'll fit but a 295/60-15 tire will be about 28.9" in diameter the way I figure it, not 27".

Hello and thanks for the response. I took that diameter off of the tire spec sheet and did not calculate it myself. You may well be correct.

I think you'd have better chances with a 295/50-15 tire. It'll be about 26.6" tall. Plus I've seen them used on older FFR Cobras/Roadsters with IRS and they really look great. Still, I don't know if they'd fit on the FIA.

    A 275-60R15 is 27.9, and 28.9 is right for the 295.

A 295-50 R15 is 26.6, so that might fit better.

I was down in Huntington Beach show a few months ago and there were two 289's there. I know one of them had 275/60 R15 in the rears and they fit and looked good. He had the knock off wheels.

I was fortunate enough to see his car at the beginning of last year's Hot Rod Power Tour and it was truly amazing.
