I have the 2005 Legacy Gt 5 speed "BABB" Where do I buy the plate for the rear and conversion pieces?
Also, how do you get the dowel3056_8_DSCN8091.jpg, bolt, thingy out of the shifter yoke so you can remove the rear plate?

the five speed lgt is almost identical to the wrx trans.
Use a punch to remove the pin. on some transmissions there is a double pin.
The plate for the rear and the spool piece comes with the 818 kit. If you don't have your kit yet and you are trying to get this done ahead of time, see if FFR can you give you an al la carte price or order from subigears (expensive)
more detailed instructions are provided in the kit.

The Bremar is $400 Aussie dollars, about $300 USD
Amit at FFR says they won't have them for 30 days and thinks they are $250. Can anyone confirm that? Does anyone have a kit they don't need? I want to get the shifter working before the car goes down to Wayne.
Is there a set length for the rod that twists the output shaft or is that a shift throw choice?

I give up. It says there is a lock to keep the nut from loosening yet it doesn't Clearly show how to unlock it. It just says remove the nut. I took blown up pictures of it and can't figure the lock out and I SHOULD be able to. It says to put it back on but nothing about taking it off.
Are you talking about the transmission nut where it tells you to punch it with a chisel to lock it? Is that the lock nut you're referring to? These types of nuts are similar to most axles nuts found on the ends of CV shafts. The thin bit of metal at the top of the nut that you chisel in keeps it from loosening. All you have to do is take a small flat head screw driver and lightly hammer that thin bit of metal back out. Or you can just take an impact gun and unscrew that nut without hammering out the locking bit, I've done that before too. Some people reuse these nuts but I just bought a new one to be safe.
StipWRD Thanks. I didn't know if I could take the nut off without removing the clip. I guess I can put the clip back in when I reinstall the nut. With it in my hand I can figure it out how to install it.
It's not really a clip, its a thin piece of metal on the top of the nut that gets hit with a screw driver and forced into a cavity in the threads. Here's an example of this type of nut on an axle shaft:
