Suggestions on installing the sensor to the block?
MK4 #9121 - Complete kit - Stroked 351, T5x, 3.55 Rear End, 3-Link - Pickup 6/17/17, 1st start 12/2/17, Go-Kart 12/9/17, Road Worthy 4/27/18
I used an oil cooler sandwich adapter that uses the stock spin on filter for my engine. I drilled out the piece, making more than a few holes so that oil flows through it instead of to each port that was intended for the cooler plumbing.
This gave me two available ports that could be used for my oil pressure and oil temperature sensors. In addition, taking this route allowed me to avoid putting a bung in the pan and also allowed me to hide my wiring since my filter is on the left lower side of the block.
Good Luck On Your Build!
UPDATE:
This is the adapter that is used for SB Ford applications:

I used the port on the front driver side of block. You will need an extension though. I got my mine from Breeze or Summit. I also have the oil temp gauge tied into the same port as I don’t have a port in my oil pan for the oil temp sender. That will be a future project.

This is one of many sources. I can't tell what this is made of so google 'sbf oil pressure extender' and choose one made from steel. Ah, here ya go

I used one of the Scott Drake ones. I even tapped another port for an idiot light. There is no opportunity to look at gauges when autocrossing.
Actually my suggestion when using the FFR/Speedhut gauges is "do not install it to the block". It's no secret that I have a love/hate relationship with Speedhut after experiencing a number of failures on various builds which includes at least 3 oil pressure senders. After the second failure on the same car within <2,000 miles I installed an NPT to AN fitting at the pressure port and remote mounted the sender to the inside of the F panel then used a section of #4 braided hose between them. Can't say for sure that the sender failures were vibration related but there have been no further issues in the 10K+ miles since... Just another option to consider.
