Any preliminary 0-60 times on the gocarted 818? Thanks
0 to Sema in 3,312 hours (yes it is accurate).
Way too early for that. The first test was just to make sure the thing drove well, that the brakes worked, that the coolant was circulating, handling balance was acceptable, etc. They absolutely weren't pushing to the limit or trying to set any performance metrics. I don't even think anybody had a stop watch, though we did joke about using my Galaxy Note's accelerometer as a G-meter.
From a quick google search, the donor years (2002-2007) had an average 0 to 60 time of 4.8 seconds (source: zeroto60times.com, not sure of the accuracy of the data, and 2 of the years are from STi models). Those also weighed around 1400 kg (source: Wikipedia).
Personally, I think it'd be more realistic to say that the average 0-60 time is in the mid to low 5's. I'm conservative that way though. All that to say, the WRX's definitely had some get up and go. And with the 818 weighing in at a little under half of the donor car, there's no reason to suspect that it won't have plenty of get up and go either. So, yes, far to early for that information to be available, but if you're really looking to make a killer drag car (or just want to for the fun of it), it won't be difficult to accomplish.
With a stock WRX donor, I would be VERY surprised if 0-60 times were over 5 seconds. Of course, the driver matters greatly, but assuming a good driver, I'm expecting times in the low 4's, perhaps even sub 4's.
mid to low 5's?? Half the weight and you think the time would go up? Theoretical time for 1800lbs and 227hp is 3.95 http://www.060calculator.com/ with a tuned 350 hp engine should be 2.85!!
You also got to keep in mind that the magazines use really hard launches on AWD cars. Gearbox crunching launches. The extra traction from AWD gets the car moving faster than comparable 2WD cars, dropping about a second off 'the real' 0-60. The 818 won't be able to 'get out of hole' like the AWD.
A 2.0 WRX with a 'normal', but hard launch is a 6.0 to 6.5ish second 0-60. An 2.5 WRX or STI drops about a second off that.
I still anticipate a sub 5.0 second 0-60 with a stock 2.0 liter WRX motor and a firm (but not drag race) launch for an 818. I expect a stock N/A 2.5 version to have about the same 0-60 with the same type of street launch, should be more controllable too.

I launch them really hard PhyrraM LOL so a Wrx 02-07 0-60 is 5.4-6.0 stock and 04-07 Sti is 4.5-5.0 stock. So the car is almost half the weight, so cut the 0-60 time by like 50%. So 2.7 plus 1 second for spinning the rear tires, I would say 4.0-4.5 with stock wrx. So 2.25 plus 1 second 3.25-4.0 for stock sti. But, I feel to achieve this you will need the proper rear tire setup, say 17x13 wide rims with some sticky dot R compounds. If not a good setup and just stock wheels and tires a 0-60 of 4.5-5.0 will occur due to excessive wheel spin.
I will need wide sticky rubber for my modded sti engine that will put out like 350-420whp If I can hold the ground I will break 3 secs to 60, or hopefully close.
I throw my guess at 4 seconds with stock 230 hp.
There are several online 0-60 calculators. Most are similar to this:
http://www.060calculator.com/ and yield 3.9 seconds.
This one takes into account more factors:
http://www.angelfire.com/alt2/crx/ and yields 4.2 seconds.
I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the first (060calculator) calculator. It can to come up with some pretty unrealistic times. If you put in the Arial Atom V8 with 500 hp, at 1102#, it predicts 1.5 seconds. The 2nd (Angelfire) calculator seems not to work as linearly, and comes up with more realistic figures.
The one, very important factor that neither of the calculators take into account, is weight distribution. The calculators probably normalize around a car with a front engine and at best 50/50 weight distribution. The 818 will have 60, maybe as much as 65% of the weight an the rear wheels. When you pop the cluch on some warm rubber, there will not be a lot of weight on the front wheels. The ability to "get out of the hole" will be almost as good as if it had AWD.
The Ariel Atom, with 300 hp, 1350#, can do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. The two calculators above predict 2.6 and 3.4.
These calculators also predict that the GTM can do it in 2.8 and 3.5, but we know it does it in 3.0.
I would guess.... 4.1-4.3 or about equal to a C6 Vette.
0-60 is so fast that without professional equipment, it's not really a viable measurement IMHO. I've tried using the Cobb Accessport to check 1/4 times (and I think 0-60 but I'm not sure) and it was way off. It was showing me running like 14.0 1/4 miles lol.

270hp...is that at the wheels? And what's with the 2 second 60 ft with "race" tires? I caught a 2.1 on street tires with my old fwd 8v dodge.

Ok I found this link that will give 0-60 with your 1/8 mile times. I did the 1/8 in 7.70 at 96 mph which worked out to 3.01.
