From what I understand Quick Time designed it to not use a boot in order to mitigate heat.
Thousands of miles driven with a QuickTime bell and no cover. Zero issues. While these get driven occasionally in rain (intentional or not) in general they don't see a harsh environment like DD's are designed and tested for. Nothing to worry about IMO.

None on mine, no issues yet. Don't expect any; have hundreds of thousands of miles on cars without a boot on the fork.

I don't use one now, did on my first car for for about 1000 miles, till it wedged itself on the end of the clutch arm and the clutch wouldn't engage. Looking at your picture, I notice that the washers on the top bolt are installed out of order. The split lock washer should be under the head of the bolt, not a flat washer. Not a major issue.
Rich grsc. A lock washer is intended to bite in to the under side of the head of the bolt and a stationary surface to help prevent the bolt from backing out, putting a flat washer between the lock washer and the stationary surface just lets the lock washer bite into the flat washer and the flat washer, lock washer and bolt then back out of the hole as a unit.
You probably should have said, throw the flat washer away.

No need for a cover on the QT clutch lever opening -- it's designed to be open. BTW, QT tests these to SFI test standards with that opening unobstructed and they must contain all the debris from a clutch explosion. If memory serves, they spin a 20lb flywheel at 10,000 RPM and fragment it at speed. Using a scatter shield like the QT pictured greatly enhances safety and is well worth the extra weight and $$.
Rich grsc and Big Ugly, thanks for noticing, I'll get rid of the flat washer.
