Anyone installed, or thinking of installing a master battery switch?
If so, where are you thinking? I'm doing bench seats, and not sure of rear bulkhead area will be accessible .

I have one sitting in its package on the floor. I'm just thinking that once I have the seat, I'll make it work somewhere. If the seat is 2 pieces, I could make the back folding or removable maybe. But yes, I'll be doing one.
I’m going to use a light aircraft style master contactor (looks like a Ford starter solenoid but has a lower amp continuous duty coil) and mount it right by the battery. Then it will just require a toggle switch running low current, possibly hidden, to actuate it. Should be tidy.
Pat, I wish I knew what you just said.
Thanks, Ralph
Hi Ralph:
Like this, but there are less expensive sources.

This is the one I’ve ordered, the 12 volt version.

On my 55 Chevy I used a master disconnect that is controlled by a key fob. It worked great since I had the battery in the trunk behind a panel that is hard to get to. Prob will go the same way on this build. I will try to find the info on it this weekend.
this was the one I used.

Jeep, does product you used just turn off connection to battery when drainage is detected, or can it be used as an anytime total disconnect switch? I am thinking of just disconnect switch, and not worried about trickle drain.
And, where is a good spot to mount in pickup.?
Thanks, Ralph
It mounts on battery post. I will get a photo of mine on the 55 this weekend. It comes with 2 key fob's that you can push a button on the remote and cut it off.
I wired a battery master switch, using the negative side. It's there for safety while working on the vehicle, an accident, but also as an anti-theft deterrent.
I also added a "keep-alive: wire, with a low amp fuse, to prevent the computer from losing memory. The fuse would pop from any higher amperage draw, if there was a major short, or someone tried to start the vehicle.
You probably want the switch mounted in a spot that you could still reach it easily, in an emergency.
l'm looking at something like this -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00445KFZ2...v_ov_lig_dp_it
Mechanical, one moving part. No electronics.
Here is how the one I used in the 55 hooked to the battery. The kit comes with a lot of terminal options.

This style switch is very popular. You can remove the key for extra security if needed. You could mount it under the dash, behind the seat, engine compartment, etc.

If quick access isn't a chief concern, this battery mounted one would be the simple one to install.
