Fuel Send & Return apertures
The Send/Return on the Walbro 255 lph in tank pump I recently purchased appears to have small inside diameters relative than what came stock with the kit. In the build manual on page 150, the instructions indicate both the send/return ports should be drilled to expand to 5/16".
The kit I bought has openings of 3/16 for the send and 5/32 for the return. My question is will these work as is? The ports aren't large enough to handle the 5/16" size recommended expansion in the manual.

The FFR manual instructions you are looking at are just trying to eliminate a restriction created as a result of the flair that is formed on the tubing. You could do the same for the kit you purchased if you want. Just match the bit size to the tubing (slightly smaller than the tubing I.D.). Don't over think it.
As for the smaller aperature sizes, what is the kit's horsepower rating?
