Response from my email to Ron Francis Wiring
Well lots of you guys know I was having a problem with my front wiring harness so I sent this email to Ron Francis, please read how they responded , What poor costumer relation
I dont know maybe I am taking this wrong?
MY EMAIL :Hi Ron,, I seem to have no power going to the front harness at
all also when I pull the light switch to the first position it pops the
fuse , dont know if they are somehow the same issue or separate issues
none of the light are connected as of yet. no power to the fan and no
power to the horn , when I push the horn button I can here the relay click
but the horn does nothing , no sure where to start , any advise would be
great ! Thanks herb fraser
COMPLETE RESPONSE FROM RON FRANCIS::
You have to complete far more of the harness before you can start "checking"
things. Why pull the headlight switch on if you don't have the lights
connected. Some wire is probably toughing ground. Are the horns connected?
The relay has power and it the green wire is connected properly AND the
horns are actually grounded and operational, they will blow.
I don't know what you are calling a 'front harness' if you mean headlight,
wire them up. I think you are busy checking to see if we made a product that
works. Believe me, after more than 40 years, we know what we are doing.
Please follow the instructions and finish hooking items up before you panic?

Unfortunate response from RF, it never helps to get defensive with the customer.
Having said that, their wiring harness is pretty good.

Herb,
I know you know about good customer service, as I hear great things about your CS, how you take care of your customers, and the care you put in your panels. I plan to order a set one day.
That being said. My first thought is; at least you got a response. Many companies wouldn't take the time. Although it may not be an eloquent one, the response may not have been meant to be harsh either. I can see where there isn't much for them to go on, but also the "believe me" line isn't really necessary either.
I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, and try what they suggest.
Good Luck,
Dave

That isn't the way I would have composed a response. That all being said, I had a very good experience in dealing with them. I bought their EEC-IV harness, used, from another forum member, and needed connectors to shorten the coil plug. They were very polite, sent them to me immediately, and wouldn't take any money, for whatever that all may be worth.

Thanks < I do think they are a stand up company, that why I was taken back by the way they responded
In there defense they did email me back today to see how I made out , so all is well
Just venting
Thanks herb

Sometimes email comes across with a tone that was not necessarily meant by the sender.

Not a waxer
I called RF last week to get them to send a shipping label so I could send back a miswired harness. The rep I spoke with was helpful and technically proficient but not especially eloquent. If we had been having the same conversation via a written exchange it might have come across as not being very accommodating. It could easily be the difference between a one on one interaction vs. a written one. In the end I'm glad you got it sorted out Herb!

Herb, I had a wiring malfunction too. DS front turn signal wouldn't work. I spend several hours double checking the connections. Then I traced the wires through the "front" harness connector and found two wires installed incorrectly "in" the connector, from the factory. A tan and green were reversed on one side of the connector. Took several hours to find. Might be a good place to start.
Everything works great now, but it had issues.
