You do realize that you're eating all that gain up in friction losses with the majority of that being heat generated in the rearend in fourth gear (1:1 4th "gear" lockup on *most* common transmissions)?
And in 3rd gear you're actually putting less HP+ TQ to the ground than in 4th (with those additional frictional losses generating heat in the transmission)?
