The car is done as far as I can take it. I did get it running on 12 cylinders but the machine shop that made the engine connector made it out of square and the engine vibrated. I took it out and called it done. I achieved my goal of creating the only 12 cylinder boxer Porsche 917 in the world. Go to my YouTube channel and click on Videos at the top to see all my videos. A BIG thank you goes out to the ever patient Wayne Presley and all my other advisers on this site for all their help.
Thanks Steve. You have NO IDEA! I ended up having to wire the two engines myself. Now I just have to get Jerry Seinfeld to buy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2UpM5r5j2A
I've done two things for "Exposure". I have an add on Craig's List in Hartford, Ct. at $100,000. Another will start on Saturday on eBay with a reserve of $100,000. I need to expose the cars to the world without accidentally selling them too cheep, so I can get the best possible price at auction later. When I tried to sell the car as an unfinished project 8 years ago, I got a lot of attention through internet car magazines. That was with the car Not running. Now it's a driver that needs fine tuning and testing just like the original 917's. I can't afford to take the car any further, my emotions couldn't handle it even if I had money and my technical skills stop right here.
This was intended as a toy while I thought I could still work and before the 2008 recession hit me. Now it is a large part of my retirement plan so I have to maximize the selling price by exposing it to the largest audience possible.

Congrats on getting the car running and driving.
Who is your target buyer? example: car collector and 917 fan
What is car used for? example: car shows, track days, vintage races, daily driver.
Can the car be street legal?
What is cost to finish?
Congrats on getting the car running and driving. Thanks.
Who is your target buyer? Jerry Seinfeld! It needs to go to people with money to burn that have real cars like this and have people that can take it to the next level. This is a major part of my retirement plan at this point so I have to get every penny out of it.
What is car used for? Track days, car shows, hill climbs.
Can the car be street legal? Anything is possible with enough money and the right laws. This car with a windshield doesn't seem right.
What is cost to finish? I stopped counting 7 years ago. It was getting too painful.
