This was with NASA in HPDE1 at Sonoma Raceway.
I’ve driven this track previously in other cars but not with NASA- instructors were in the cars and there were a lot of cars on the track. It was not a day to set personal best lap times, but a day of learning the nuances of the track- and how NASA operates.
Some pics and a short video of a mostly clear lap.
The video is not from my usual GoPro setup but rather from an always looping dash-cam (audio is blown-out, sorry). https://youtu.be/UOEO0TvIIeU
The car was good- no over-heat issues (not coolant, oil, nor power steering) as I have coolers on everything. I was pretty much driving at 7/10ths and short-shifting to not beat on it too bad the first time out. Finally got some heat in the tires as opposed to driving on the street (Nitto NT05s at 25 psi). Still, I did not reach the limits of over- or under-steer. Next time.
I trailered the car there and back (50 miles each way) but I could have easily driven it there and back.
