Miohn -(not the sportiest.. but I like the idea)
I had some good ones as i tried to fall asleep last night. But I just can't think of them. There is one thing I really want it to be called.
Mine.
I like the reasons for this name. The artful nature of driving coincides well with playing music. The word also suggests 'fortified' or 'strong'. Not too difficult to pronounce, and it sounds refined and expensive. Only downside, not a musician myself, I think I'd have a hard time remembering it.
I am glad to hear I'm not the only one that really liked the name 'fortissimo'. of course '818' is what most people will call it, similar to the way Mazda Miata and MX-5 are totally interchangable (best example I can think of right now, but there are lots more). Think about how badass this would look as a badge along with the '818'... maybe in a similar configration to this: 'ff' goes where mazda emblem is (stands for Fortissimo AND Factory Five) and 818 goes where "MX-5" is...

Yeah, but try to say 'fortissimo' without using a fake Italian accent. I know I can't.

For the roadster, I propose, "Ventus," which is latin for "Wind."
I like it simple and to make an obvious reference to its origin.
My suggestion is; F5 and F5/R
Thanks,
BB
It's probably already been said (17 pages worth of posts, and no, I didn't read them all), but I like 818 for the name. It's simple, and Factory Five doesn't already have a car with just numbers for the model name.
Reminds me a little of HO scale trains but I like it.

Could name it after a small, unassuming but fearsome animal.
like a badger, wolverine or mongoose.
Might need to be in a different language though.
How about "Monster" (I like the mental image of a Duc on four wheels )
On the Near Boston it would commonly be pronounced "Monsta"
I am shamelessly rooting for Vman's striking design!!!
or perhaps "Vendette" or "Dragon"

How about the honey badger...I'm just saying. Because on the track, its nasty and it takes what it wants; it don't care. It specifically eats cobra's for lunch...on the track of course. See link below...R-rated for language only.

FFR Skree.
Not a real word. Just the name alone makes you think it is small nimble and goes like stink!
Edit: Not to mention that there is no need to translate for the "world car" customers.

Unlike many other states, Massachusetts (FFR home) does not have a state mammal, nothing on the list grabs me.
It was just an idea based on someone's animal comment.

Haha.
But they will have a state mammal once the 818 is out.
At least that what I think according to Urban Dictionary...

as indicated by the sheer amount of dents you see in Massachusets cars, particularly in the Boston area
