Any 818s in SoCal I could come visit?
I just pulled the trigger on an 818C kit, and I'd love to see one that is in progress or complete, to get ideas about how I will fit in it, how concerned I will need to be about head and leg room, and hear about your build decisions. I'm in Ventura County, but willing to drive.

A General Contractor in Roseville outside of Sacramento built an advanced 818R featured in Reincarnation Magazine last month. Kinda a drive from Thousand Oaks but I am sure he could answer any questions. Really pushed the design limits on the build.

Thanks you both for the ideas. Sacramento is not out of the question as my build colleague and I can be mobile by air as well as ground, so I think we will look into that for now.

If you decide to head north, there are 2 registered 818S's <5 miles apart in San Jose (one is mine). If you are tall, fit/space should be considered. At 6ft tall, I am at 95% seat-rear position using the Boyd tank (and I doubt there's gain with a smaller tank- need some angle...). Then there's the headroom question that I can't help with.
Congrat's on the project. I bought mine "un-opened" in Pasadena and u-hauled it home.

San Jose is not out of the question as we can be airborne - would you be willing to have a couple of visitors some Sunday?

Jo3sh,
I am in Carlsbad and have pretty much finished my 818C.
You are more than welcome to come and se it.
PM me, Jim
