It would be great if you posted more details on your approach and methods here. I know you'll be following the advice of the body "wise men" so it will be good to get it out there again. So far I've got some Dura-Blocks and just ordered some Soft-Sanders, also have a gallon of the Rage Gold, a roll of 80 grit for the initial rough stuff,....
Steve
For the record I'm going very slow with the sanding and take breaks when I get frustrated since I'm A 100% Body Work Virgin!
I knocked the parting lines down with a 2" Mini D/A.
https://youtu.be/_3sLamdkIFg
Next I went after it with my 5" D/A.
https://youtu.be/meBYeI96_A8
Now I'm using my Dura-Blocks and Sanding in an X-Pattern plus using a Black Guide Coat to expose any low spots.
I'll start using the Rage Gold & Fiber Tech body fillers, both are Evercoat products, once I'm happy with the body.
Before I apply any filler I'll degrees the body, and rough it up with 80 grit once I have the low spots identified.
Hope This Helps!

Looks very meticulously done, Steve. I can't believe how much nicer your body is than what I got with my kit. Keep at it and keep the progress reports coming.

Man if the 33 body only looked that good to start with. Once I knock down the mould flash, there is no way I can go to blending that in with the surrounding area - huge divots and such. So will have to start using some filler right away at that point. Anyway, this is helpful, Thanks!!!

Dave,
Jeff and I have discussed the quality of my body versus others like yours on several occasions.
Having built more than a few fiberglass boats in my youth, it pains me to see shoddy glass work.
Mold preparation (waxing & buffing) seam sealing with the modeling clay and final mold alignment are all necessary to get good parting lines.

The Body To Frame Fitting Is 100% Done!
1. Body Is Mounted & In A Very Repeatable Resting Location.
2. Doors Fitted With A Slight Under Gap.
3. Trunk Fitted With A Slight Under Gap.
4. Hood Fitting Is Going Slower Than Anticipated.
Now I'm itching so it's time for a vinegar wash down and shower.
Man I hate the smell of that stuff, but hate itching even more.

If you are itching to the point of no return, wash yourself down with vinegar and it will reduce the itching.
If you are doing glass or insulation work, it really helps cut down on the scratching.
For the record I hate the vinegar, but hate itching more.

The body work is going rather slow because I'm pretty much living at the office most days and weekends too.
I will likely be getting my friend Sammy to either assist me or I may bring the car to his place.
He's been my friend Ernie's right hand man at Dependable Paint & Body for 31 years.
Man I hate bringing in help, but the car needs to be painted and finally done!

Steve,
There is no shame in asking for help to achieve your goals. If you have resources available and that get's you to your goal, go for it!

Someone told me once, "Are you going to keep the car? If so, what's the difference in the long run if the car is done 2 months later than what you wanted?"
Point is, we put timelines on ourselves that sometimes don't take in all variables. This helped me when I needed to go back and fix something I had initially done wrong, or was hit with a setback.
If you truly hate bringing in help, and if it's going to eat at you because you had a goal of completing everything yourself, then be patient. But I agree with Papa, someone else working on the car with you or for you would be a great way to get the project over the hump and done.
You've done a fantastic job on your dark side build, and you've had several setbacks that you've overcome. It's definitely in you to complete it.
Best Regards,
Dave

Enter Sam Man!
We've made great progress on the bodywork with all of the mold parting lines smoothed, filled, blocked and trace coated.
Thankfully the body we are working with is excellent compared to most we've seen on the forum in recent years.
Our next phase will be to attack the doors, specifically where they meet the dash cowling intersection area.
The Sam Man (Samuel Olsen) is doing an excellent job and he is truly an excellent teacher too.

We're in the home stretch now and are working on the doors.
We hope to be in the paint booth in a few weeks.
The goal is to be the flavor of CSX-3178.
The color will be Dodge Torred.

Thanks for the support.
I also ordered a new pair of headers on Friday because I think I can do a better job getting the angle on the dangle looking better with a new set.
Currently I've got some Breeze Wedges in place and would like to avoid using them if possible.
At $200.00, it is a small price to pay for a set of headers.
The Part Number Is IMCA Modified Adjustable 161-33.

The Sam-Man Worked Solo Social Distancing Yesterday So The Body Work Is Now Complete Except For The Gapping!
That means I had a Gapping Good Time until my fingers got a bit torn up so I had to call it a day.
Right now I am just under 3/16" (Thick Paint Stick) on the hood and doors.
I hope to get after the trunk one evening soon.

Steve my friend,
3/16” dry (i.e. before primers, paint and clear) is gonna’ be tight once everything is on it, especially at the leading edges of the doors and trunk.
Consider yourself warned

After nearly four (4) hours of sanding, the doors are re-gapped per your recommendations.
I'll get after the hood and trunk after lunch.
Thanks As Alway!

Steve, if 3/16” is insufficient, how much gap did you use? Consistently throughout?

Joe,
I'm a smidgen past 3/16" on all of my gaps, but still under 1/4".
It wasn't easy, nor fun to do them all by hand, but the gaps are extremely uniform.
Using one gauge and a lot of patience really paid off for this part of the build.

Sir Jeffski,
The sanding is over for me at this point in time.
The body will be going to Dependable Paint & Body where Sir Sammy will tackle that aspect of the process before handing it off to their painter.

The big question is will Sir Ernie (The Owner) insist on doing the final spray out since he truly is the best of the best and only tends to do the custom stuff.

Thanks Gentlemen,
The body goes to the paint shop on Monday so I'm pumped.
Also, the driver's door issue was making me go nuts so I'm hoping my solution gives other builders an alternate solution for that problem.
I just wish they'd do a better job with their current glass work because My Body Was Great compared to what I'm seeing on the forum lately.

The car has been blocked and prepped so tomorrow it enters the spray booth to start the painting process.
It will get blocked two or three more times before it gets any color.
To say the least the car is getting a lot of attention.
