I'm seeing everything from .006 to .030? How close do you need to be? Didn't think I'd need a feeler gauge for this part... Is the FFR tone ring that precise?
Thanks!

When gapping things like sensors I have frequently used items like sheet metal, business cards, and credit cards depending upon what gap is needed and what I had available.
I fabbed up a bracket for the VSS sensor. G96.01. Tacking it up here
It's hard to notice but the gearbox mounting hole closest to the sensor is drilled one size oversized. This gives me about 1/16" of play in the VSS position when mounted on the gearbox. I set the gap to 010, will adjust if necessary.

Why not use the wheel sensor on the hubs already?
Do you crate ecu?

I can't remember if you can hook this sensor up to a volt meter, put a screw driver up to it, and then pull it away fast and see what the reading on the voltmeter says to validate it's hooked up correctly.
Could probably test that with business cards or cardboard between the screw driver and sensor to find what gap it will really work with?
I would recommend welding in a small brace across the corner of your bracket to keep it from vibrating and setting up a "false" signal. I know with the stock FFR bracket on a G50, most of the time you will get the speedo jumping up to about 20mph while stopped at idle.

Yeah, Shane, I was wondering about that. It's pretty sturdy but it wouldn't hurt to add some bracing, thanks for the heads up.

Shane,
Thanks for the heads up, mine is like Beeman's so bet I need to add a brace as well...
