    EPA and Non OEM shut-down

I get involved in diverse projects and one of those is fitting a Summit LS3 SBC crate engine with Blueprint heads into a 1998 C5 Corvette track day car. I need new headers with larger primaries. Summit has eight options listed for that chassis but nothing in stock. Everything is "Not Available" or "ships from supplier" with prolonged ship dates.
A call to aFe Racing and Summit customer service revealed the EPA has virtually shut down the racing products industry. No selling or manufacturing of non OEM spec parts. No prediction on when it will be resolved. SEMA is on it.
This has resulted in layoffs already. It is a big industry to shut-down.

It is even bigger than that. Since I retired from flying I have worked as a field service manager for a company that repairs big construction equipment and heavy trucks out of Denver. We also have lots of problems getting parts. excuses are all over the place but the parts simply don't exist and no one knows when they will be produced.
