Coupe 65 Upper control arm alignment

The assembly manual shows the measurements for initial alignment of the passenger side front upper control arm. It does not show the driver side but sort of implies the measurements are the same. Problem is, the geometry of the control arm is reversed on the opposite side since the ball joint plate has to be reversed for the ball joint to be canted to the outside. So, do the dimensions stay the same with respect to the control arm or with respect to the front of the car? I probably didn't explain clearly, but it would have been helpful to show the alignment dimensions with respect to the front of the car for both right and left sides. Would appreciate any enlightenment on the subject. Thanks

The measurements are with respect to the front and rear of the car regardless of whether the welded end is to the front or rear.

The rear legs should both be the same dimension, 7.375". They are measured from the grease fitting to the inside pivot bolt. Yes, the orientation of the top plate at the ball joint is different, but the measurement is the same. hth

Thanks for the reply. That is what I figured, just wasn't clear in the manual. Thanks again.

Just got to this in my build and finding the manual just as confusing as JimV. What I don't get is that if the rear leg on the driver side must be 7.375" (which is the leg with two pivot bolts) then the distance between the two pivot bolts cannot be 6.875"? If it is, then the 7.375" is not achievable??
