Homemade tools
I don't usually make the best make-buy decision when it comes to tools and fixtures. I usually spend too much time making something I could buy for a few bucks. But hey, I have the time and it's kind of a puzzle.
So I thought I'd start a thread with a couple of my inauspicious creations. Maybe you have some brilliant, or just funny, items to share.
I wanted dimpled rivnuts, so the panel would sit flush. A 1/2 NPT adapter and an old screw and I got it

I made an assembly tool to guide the ss braided hose in the fitting

Less than 1% of the animal kingdom uses tools, therefore, scientists claim that humans are the superior species. And hot rodders that make their own tools are the top of the intelligent life forms in the universe.

Awesome Art!
Now, back to the inauspicious. Here’s a tool to seat pop rivets when the holes don’t line up quite right. Made from 2 inches of ¼” hydraulic tube from the donor power steering tubes.
