Any words of wisdom regrading radiator aluminum?

I will soon be ready to install the aluminum around the radiator. It looks to be fairly straight forward, but I thought I would ask the forum and those that have already been this route if there is anything I should pay specific attention to......
As always photos are really nice too.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Hi Bob

I found this to be a tricky part...chicken or the egg type of scenario.

Have you installed the front hood (body) yet? The reason I ask is because in order to get optimal rad duct aluminum placement you almost need to install the hood first...at least that's what I found worked the best. Then I positioned all the rad duct pieces with clamps until I was happy with the position relative to the hood. The very bottom of the large rear duct piece can be adjusted from below but you may need to add a piece. You almost have to install all the pieces together. To figure out where any one of them actually goes.

A one inch shroud would work really well for me now. The 2 1/2 inch shroud I have works but a little too thick. Mayb I'll make one too.

While I have had the hood on the car I don't have the body or the hood on right now....I may just put off the rad aluminum until I get the body back on again. Good point and I had wondered about the need for having the hood in place.
    Thanks.

That was my approach but others may have tricks on how to get the pieces in place without the hood on...??

Bob, put the Body and hood on first or you will have problems getting it all lined up right.

Good advice and that is what I will do.
    Thank you.
