My "other" project, tribute to my Dad.

I posted back in November, I lost my father 5 months ago today. One of the projects he was working on was the third restoration of a 1946 Mercury which our family has owned since 1961. With his sudden death, the Mercury became my project, as well as trying to finish my coupe.
Today was a big step in having it towed to a company which will install the interior and glass. I hope to have it on the road this summer.

    Rob,

Nice car, keep it forever! I kick myself for letting my dad's last car be sold.

    Thanks guys,

Pat, he had already promised it to my son. His hope was it would still be driving when it's 100 years old, 66 years down, 34 to go.

    Rob-

That's going to look great cruising down the Oceanfront in VA Beach. You are certainly going to be turning a LOT of heads. Good luck finishing it up!

    Regards,

    Steve

Way to go on keeping his legacy rolling. Sounds like your dad did a good job with an even more important legacy, though, a loving son and grandson.

I couldn't help smiling, though, about a line from one of my favorite car movies (Gumball Rally, of course) - one of the old guys in the Mercedes 300 says: "I made this drive once, in a Mercury coupe."
    Later,
