If you've seen my most recent build thread post you know I got the body on today. After trimming a little on the bottom front on both sides to get a better fit around the lower frame where the welds are for the front rails that slant in toward the radiator. I clamped the body to the firewall and went to measure for the 45 1/2" gap of the cockpit . Does anyone know if your measuring from the edge of the front dash curve rearmost part of the curve. I'm assuming the vertical surface in the rear but they don't specify and there's a curve there too. The sides at the door openings don't sit all the way down on the sills either. Am I doing something wrong?

There have been many posts a few years ago about the body not being a mirror image side to side.
The left side sill should sit on the frame.
No so for the pass side, I had a 1/4” gap from the sill to the frame rail as many have noted.
I used a 1/4” thick piece of oak to take up the space.
Maybe Gen 2 is different??
This is a minor problem. You’ll have a lot more fun cutting/fitting the doors, hood, and trunk.

Here's a crude drawing about my measuring question. I assume they want you to measure to the surface with the 2 arrows, is that correct, not at the top of the curve?IMG_20230608_234549.jpg

The manual is too vague. I looked in the jpg. version and expanded the picture and it gets too blurry to see the tape numbers. I got the sills down by grinding some flash on the body that was up by the curved upper portion of the trunk that was hitting the top of the frame cross bar near the ends. With the body sitting down all the way and the sills clamped it measures 45 1/2 at the top of the curve in the rear. Seeing how I think that's what Roadracer said and I can't lower the body to open it up I'm going to call that good. Thanks for your help, all! If anyone has a better opinion don't hesitate to chime in.

FYI to current and future builders. When drilling the holes in the body in the rear wheel wells, it is a good idea to set the rear frame height equal on both sides. Measure from the lip over each tire at the same point to the tires or the same fixed point on both sides if your tires are not on, so that the body sits equally on both sides after tightening the bolts. When you run the self tapping screws into the sides predrill the screw holes through the body with a 5/32 bit first. If you just run the screw in on the mark it will grab the fiberglass when trying to go through the frame and pop out the surface of the body around the hole. Ask me how I know. The cutouts in the front of the body, so it can go around the round frame tubes, need to be trimmed. Cut the top corner off to clear the slanted frame rails on the backside of the firewall and the bottom needs to be trimmed half as wide down about an inch to clear some welds that go down a little farther than the ones that FFR cut. The body wouldn't go in by the foot boxes because of this. You may also have to trim the bottom lip where the front slanted in frame tubes that go to the front are welded to the lower side frame tubes. The body may hit the frame at that point and not allow the lower body sides to go in where they belong.
