I plan to use the internal cooler in the radiator, as it maintains the perfect 200 degree operating temperature. External coolers and fans just seem to add complexity, and they actually can over cool the ATF on less than hot days.
Just use the built in cooler in the radiator. Remote coolers are generally only needed for towing, racing or heavy duty use.

If you live in the Southwest or other hot locations you may want one.
I picked up a tranny cooler off a Suburban at the local junkyard for $7.
It’s mounted to the frame rail with a switch so I can turn the fan on when it’s needed.
It’s plumbed in after the radiator cooling loop.

While I agree with using the radiator, Bowler transmission requires an external oil cooler for my 700R4 I'm installing in my 57 Chevy for warranty purposes. Just a thought.
If it's a warranty issue then add an external. Peace of mind in a good thing.

Truck build here, so not 100% applicable. But I found it was impossible to have both an A/C condenser and the radiator cooler in the grille area for my Gearstar/GM 4L65E. I installed a Derale Cooling Products 13950 powered unit under the bed in the back. It's not that big and suspect something like that would work with the hot rod if necessary. Important to decide early in the build because it obviously affects routing of the cooling lines, among other things.

I looked at a bunch of those and if I go that route i'll do the Perma Cool 13211 for it's lower profile. https://www.amazon.com/Perma-Cool-13.../dp/B07BTPWSPM
If you are using the 32 radiator and shell the radiator does not provide for a transmission cooler connection (at least mine didn't). I purchased a small transmission cooler and mounted underneath near the rear end in the airstream. Never had any heat problems.
Update on this, I used a Derale 13401 and plumbed it in line with the radiator trans cooler.
