I installed the Breeze LED light kit (headlights & signal) on my MK4, there isn't much of any protection on the inside of the fender for stones that might bounce forward and hit the LED unit. Has anyone tackled this?

Not saying that it couldn't happen but in all of the cars that I have torn down for body & paint (some with with up to 20,000 miles on the odometer) I have never seen a headlight bucket that showed damage on the wheel side. Honestly don't think it's something that should cause much worry.

If you’re concerned, you could install wheel well liners. I think Shane at VRaptor Speedworks sells them nowadays. They will also protect the underside of the body from star cracks if a rock gets thrown up.

I added the inner liners during the build. (Can't exactly remember who made them, Alex's?). One big advantage is they give a really nice finished look in the wheel wells. The down-side is they took a lot of fitting, trimming, and install and removal to get them to fit right. I'd do them again for sure.
If Brute Force doesn't work, you're not using enough of it.
Basic Stuff: MK4 Complete Kit #8439, Wilwood's, 17" Halibrands. Extra Stuff: Stainless brake and fuel lines, Breeze cooling, Battery mount, SS Roll Bar. Old Fart Stuff: Heater, Seat Heaters, Footbox Fresh Air, Stereo, Keyless ignition, Power Steering, Hyd Clutch.

I believe that shane @ vraptor speedworks is making the MK4 wheel well liners now after Alex stopped production.

If you opt for the wheel well liners make DARN sure that they are well secured! I had a body and paint customer who installed a set of Alex's shortly after taking the car home and a couple of weeks later while on a drive one of the front ones came loose, got tossed around inside the wheelwell by the tire and fractured the body. Not sure how Shane's design or method attachment compare to the ones Alex produced but just be forewarned that if they get loose things can get real ugly.

Just adding some real world experience with the Breeze LED light kit.
After 20k miles since they’ve been installed, no issues whatsoever of damage or stone chip damage nearby and a lot of those miles were highway miles.

Gone but not forgotten. Mk1, Frame #1929 Complete restoration/upgrade.
I'll look at the fender liners but think for now the odds look good for the LED lights to survive general driving...

Yep, received a set a few months ago, awaiting final paint to install. Was sold on ‘em when at a recent Atlanta Cobra Club meetup at Spotlight Custom Cars, a Cobra owner showed me a barely discernible spider crack in the paint on the top of the DS front fender. A stone had been slung up underside causing the damage. And thanks JK for another good warning on securely fastening those liners!
