After hearing Terrible Terry's horror stories about the heat issue, I decided to tackle it by doing a couple of things. Like most of you I will be putting in Dynamat on the interior covering entire inside of the floor. However, Dynamat doesn't really advertise heat protection; it's mostly a sound dampener. Lizard skin also is a bit expensive so here's what I've come up with.

First I wrapped the downpipe just below the foot box with kevlar wrap. I don't buy DEI, I just buy the stuff of ebay for cheap. It's all the same from my experience and DEI marks up it crazy!

Then, I simply got some 6061 .18ga aluminum sheet and cut out two rectangles, 15x9, picked up some spacers and screws, and made some heat sheilds. A bit of bending at the sides will probably help with reflection. I'm also planning on polishing them for even more heat reflection. This should be enough to keep air flowing between the heatsheild and the bottom of the car.

I hope it works for myself as well as you guys.
