    4L65e DIPSTICK and TUBE

Stage 1 kit coming in 2 days and biting at the bit for my 1st build. Been doing a lot of reading and coming up with questions. Here's 1 more...was wondering if there is a stock dipstick and tube I can get or is this going to be a custom part?
Again, thank you guys in advance for the help I know I'll receive,
    JW

Be careful... AOD and 4L65E are not interchangeable labels. AOD is the specific name given to the Ford 4-speed Automatic OverDrive transmission based on the FMX transmission.

I came here to offer a good dipstick and tube option from Allstar Performance - but for the AOD, not the 4L65E.

On a somewhat related note, if you do end up going with an aftermarket dipstick, make sure you calibrate it against the original one that came with the transmission.

I used a Lokar TD-34L60EFM Flexible Braided Stainless Transmission Dipstick on my hot rod truck build with an LS3 and 4L65E trans. Worked fine although X2 on checking the length. Mine was too long and resulted in me underfilling the transmission. Discovered during first start when it wouldn't shift into reverse. I guessed at the right length (full mark 1/4" above bottom edge of housing) and later confirmed and slightly adjusted when I had the pan off replacing the leaking gasket. The Lokar is a nice piece, but good grief inflation at work. It was $100 on Amazon Feb 2021. No see it's $147. Ouch.
