Coil mount for Ford Small Block

Just a general question about where everyone is mounting the ignition coil in their 33 Hot Rod or 35 Truck? I have a Ford small block with Holly Sniper2 and Hyperspark ignition and Coil. The coil is large, but it is the same colors as the block, so I don't mind it being visible. I just dont want a coil wire run from the firewall to the distributor. In my opinion that might be too long. Unless that is successful for people?

Please let me know what you did. Thanks

Works just fine. There are some nice mounts that will go on the engine too.

OK, I cheated. I found these LS engine swap mounts for $20. They are almost 1/2 inch thick aluminum and a perfect size. I will trim a little and use a 3/8 spacer to mount one to the drivers side head accessory holes. the square end fits the Holley Hyperspark coil perfectly...even the holes align. I will post pictures once it is mounted.

    For others following....

I designed/machined my own E-core coil mount that also functions as a idler pulley mount.

The bracket can be configured for either drivers or passenger side installation - though the hardware is slightly different.
