    Tie in help

    Hi all,
    I have a question regarding alignment. Specifically I am looking for help with toe adjustment. Before I pull off the tie rod from the knuckle I want to run this all by more experienced builders.
    My toe at rear of the tire is 73 7/8 inches.
    Toe at the front of the tire is 73 1/2 inches.
    It is toe in too far.
    Since I need to make both sides even I need to move each rod out approximately 1/4 inch. Is there enough thread on the rod to do this? Do I need to unhook the tie rod or can I spin the steering rack rod?

    Your help has been a godsend. I am also starting a cobra coming soon..so I guess I should finalize the coupe..finally.

    The tie rod ends don’t need to be disconnected from the spindle’s steering arm. Just loosen the jamb nut and clamp holding the boot and turn the inner tie rods to make your adjustments. You have about 3/8” toe in presently; I recommend 1/16”-3/32”.

    I suggest caster first, then camber (you have a nice camber/caster gauge). Then adjust your toe. Go back and check caster again, check camber again and re-check toe. Takes a few iterations but you get good at it. Some people do it in a different sequence, whatever works is good.

    Car must be level laterally.
    Secure the steering wheel centered.
    Get the strings set up parallel to the center line of the car.
    After adjusting, move the car back and forth to settle it.
