Meet the Team: Factory Five's Jon D. Takes Team Members Out in his Mk4 Roadster

Meet Factory Five Welding Manager Jon Dean! Jon built his own Mk4 Roadster several years ago, and has been taking team members out for rides in it so they can experience the cars they are helping customers build. Jon goes over his Mk4 build from top to bottom, and shares miles of smiles with his co-workers.

Jon not only built an excellent car with some really nice custom touches. He also did a great job of presenting.

Speaking as a builder who took delivery of their frame bare I'd like to say a special thank you to the crew in the welding shop and this guy. After going over and cleaning up EVERY weld I have a new found admiration for the craftmanship involved. So many welds, many in awkward, hard to reach spots, and all expertly executed.

For a part of these cars that eventually gets mostly hidden and unseen, I just want to say "I SEE YOU!"

Keep up the great work and helping to make our dreams a reality.

Well done on both the car and the video, Jon. Your thinking outside the box with your car build is admirable. Love the color. And your generosity to your fellow coworkers is honorable.
Curious about the hood vents. Did you just graft the vents from the GTM onto the Roadster hood? The look is cool, but do they help with either engine cooling or reducing down force?
Keep up the good work. Ed K
