    13" Mustang IRS rear brake questions

    I went for the stock Mustang rear brake option for my IRS kit. I just grabbed some calipers and was looking at the instructions and I'm confused. I have a few questions:

    1) The instructions for the 13" rear brakes show custom brackets to move the caliper from the side to the top of the rotor. That isn't actually needed, is it? It seems like I can bolt it right up to the hub like it is on the Mustang. The only thing is the parking brake spring looks pretty close to the coil spring, but I THINK it will clear it.
    2) The caliper shown in the instructions have the parking brake hook, but the Mustang calipers I have just have a straight arm. So as I've seen said elsewhere, the parking brake cables that came with the kit won't work. Looks like I should make a right angle hook that the cable can insert into, and that hooks onto the caliper arm. Just have to shorten the cable (which I'm a bit nervous about doing). Is that the gist?
    3) I was randomly looking for a parking brake cable that has the loop as its end and maybe is shorter. I'm surprised to find that even looking for the Mustang 2018 parking brake cable on RockAuto, I don't see any cable with a loop. Isn't that what is stock for a newer Mustang? How is it that I can't find a Ford cable with a loop for the Mustang? I'm guessing it would be too long anyway, but I'm just confused by all these mismatching pieces of info.

    I switched from the FFR-supplied 13" rear brake setup to what is OEM on a 2015+ Mustang.

    As far as I remember (and I just tossed the FFR-supplied calipers and brackets into metal recycling) the FFR-supplied calipers are from a 1988 Taurus (or something close to that).

    The 2015+ Mustang rear calipers bolt directly to the hub carrier. I may have sourced the bolts (4) from Rockauto.

    You can try to invert the rear coilovers if clearance is an issue - I MAY have done that.

    Zoom in on the photo and the 'loop' is there - looks rectangular.

    Oh, was there an option to actually get 13" brakes from FFR? Is that what the instructions are intended for?

    I didn't think of inverting the coilovers, makes sense if it is too close to the caliper.
    Hmmmm, I don't see a loop in the photo, but could be just a bad angle. Makes sense if that is the case, since it seems like they must have the loop for those calipers. Was the length reasonable, or it had to be shortened?

    Yes to the 13" brakes from FFR and probably what you are seeing in the manual - some flat steel plates that you sandwich together to make a bracket.

    I took a picture of my rear brake setup yesterday - OEM 2015 caliper bolted directly to the hub carrier. No need to invert the coilover and no need to shorten the brake cable - but I did need longer brake hoses compared to what the prior brakes used sitting at 12 o'clock.
