Well I am almost ready to get my first start and went to wire the shorter starter that was recommended in the instructions when I noticed I destroyed the solenoid while dropping the engine in. My options were to wait up to a week for a new one to be delivered, or give the stock one a shot. The engine came with a starter but I pulled it per the directions. I tried to see if the stock solenoid would fit the new starter but they didnt line up right. To my surprise and relief the stock starter from a 2013 coyote fits! but just barely...I had about a half inch clearance to the motor mount. It definitely couldnt be installed before dropping the engine in but now thats its on the mounts it was only a minor pain to bolt it back on. Hope this helps anyone going the gen 1 route to save a little $
