    Cant beleive it. Finally painted Cut and buffed.

    We, my build has taken 5 years to get to this point. I am finally beginning final assembly.
    The body work, sand able primer Primer, sealer and paint, all the sanding. Just crazy. I did it all myself in my garage. One step at a time. One painful step sometimes at a time.
    When i started painting, it took almost 30 hrs. straight by the time i finished. I thought that i wasn't going to make it.

    Looks great. As someone that is going to do similar. Body on too, what did you do about the edges of the body? The areas that are hard to spray? Namely underneath, hood lower edges, wheel wells etc.

    Wow, great work!

    I keep thinking I'd like to do my bodywork/paint but I just don't have the confidence in myself to do a satisfactory job.

    Have you done this before? What would you estimate your total hours of work were for body/paint?

    I rounded them slightly and masked with tape still exposing the rounded edge. Im not sure the thickness of the primer or paint and clear but it did wrap around it.

    No, ive never done this at all body work wise. But honestly lol, a ton of YouTube videos lololol, all by hand, no power sanders. i found better control block sanding everything including the clear.
    The painting, Well i worked for Toyota motor manufacturing. When i first started out, i worked in the bumper paint shop. I sprayed primer, base clear on front and rear bumpers for the Corolla and Matrix. So its a skill that was taught and i did well over 200,000 bumpers lol. but that was 25 years ago. The skill came back quickly but thee key points, angles, overlapping still required YouTube to remember. I have a little imperfections here and there.
    Hours, body work, 500 -600 hours. 2k Primer sanding going through 4 levels of grit. all block sanding. Then spraying sealer with the wrong atomizing air pressure made my car feel like an orange. So sanding the car all over again. Learned as i went.

    not many can say they painted their Roadsters, even less can say they painted their coupe. You have just joined an elite club. Truly a great job.

    Prep, alot. Cleaning and wiping to try and get as much dirt off the floors walls and ceiling. Then i masked everything. I knew i would get dirt specs but surprisingly not near as much as i was expecting. The biggest was the dried Wimbleden White flaking off of the wrap around the front window and hatch covers during the clear application. Air pressure from the gun knocked some little flecks onto the clear. I cut and buffed most but some sadly stayed. Didn't want to sand through the clear. so i would replace the front and rea masking with new before clear next time. I had a heater which allowed me to adjust temp with the help of a barbecue Weber temperature sensor lol. I had a window so i had it opened but with filter covering. Nothing else. I would create something else if i had to do it again. A box, with filter and a fan mounted to push air outside. The clear was the toughest. I always stepped out between coats and allowed to flash off and breath lololol. But after 3 coats of clear, i was done lol because of the venting.

    So the car is Guardsman blue and Wimbledon White. Number were just a dark black
