    Gen 2 Coupe headers

Looking for Gen 2 Coupe exhaust headers for 302W. They can be in new, like-new, or good condition. Willing to purchase, or trade my new Gen 2 Coupe 351W headers.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help.

Carlos: Do you still have the 351w gen 2 coupe headers. I am taking my 302 based engine out and replacing it with a 351w engine. My 302 headers are used. How much do you want for your 351w headers. Thanks for your attention to this query. Fred Ruge

Carlos: I think I am going to pass on the 351w headers and just get mine reworked. I only need the left side one done as the right side fits ok.
Thanks for your attention to this query. I hope you get your problem resolved soon. Fred Ruge

    Fred:

Please keep in mind that the headers issue is not just a matter of shortening. The 351 is a taller engine than the 302, as well as wider. In order to make them fit for the engine they were not designed for, you'll need custom bent pieces fabricated (with multiple bends) and welded, in order for them to line up with the mufflers' angle. Your passenger side may clear the foot box - as mine does, but it will also need fabrication due to the angle of the pipes. Your headers will be mounted higher and will not line up with the mufflers. My situation is the opposite of yours (headers too short & mounted too low), but with the same outcome (headers & mufflers misaligned). Once I realized that the job was going to be tedious, I stopped working on mine, while waiting to see if someone else had what I needed.

I'm currently doing the body work, and will be at least weeks before the body is back on the chassis. Then, if I have no other choice, I'll figure out how to tackle the exhaust fabrication. If you change your mind during the next few weeks, please let me know. I'd much rather swap than spend time and energy re-engineering the headers. I can have my driver side back to original very easily.

Carlos: I have decided to do a swap with you on the headers as I got my left one off today. My right one does fit my car. i am not sure how that went. So I do need at least the left side. Do you need a right one too. It may take a little doing to get it off. Should be easier than the left. I will have to make up a shipping box for my stuff.

Considering your number of posts, I'm not sure if you're receiving my PMs, as there is a minimum posts in order to get access to messaging. Please let me know if you're getting them, and please respond to my latest PM whenever you are able to.

    Thanks,

    Carlos

I have gotten your PMs, and have gotten both of my headers off. I have pictures to send if I can figure out how to attach them to this post. Your PMs have a reply box filled with a copy of your post. So I cannot reply directly to your PM. I am new to this site and may need some assistance on the shipping details.

    Fred:

This site is not user friendly, especially if you haven't used it consistently. In order to send a photo through a PM, or even attach it to a reply here, you must first create a photo album on your profile. That's the easy part. Adding photos to it and then attaching the photos to a post or PM can get confusing, as there are quite a few steps. I could walk you through the process for both, but I'll probably confuse you more. It's better if someone is on the phone with you, walking you through the process while you do it. For the sake of simplicity, I'd suggest that we exchange phone numbers or email addresses. That way, it'll be easier for us to communicate and you can send me the photos. I'll let you choose how you'd like to communicate. Once you let me know, I'll send you a PM with my personal information.

As far as replying to PMs, if you look at the bottom right of the top message box (with the sender's photo and profile info on the top left), you'll see the link: "Reply to Private Message". If you don't see that, it means that you still don't have enough posts in your profile to have been awarded the option to send PMs. You can also (if you have the option to send PMs) use the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the message; this is the one you reference in your last post. The difference is that the quote of the sender will be attached to your message, just like you see here. All you'd have to do is type underneath the copy of my message and then hit "Submit Message". In order to have PM capability, I believe you need 25 posts, but don't quote me on it.

Sorry, I forgot to address your shipping question. What type of details do you need?

Carlos; Please send me a PM and I will reply with my email address. I know I can send photos that way. Emails are much easier than this site for me. If that does not work, I will just send you my email address on this site directly. Thanks
