    Coyote wire diagram

Anyone know where I can source a wire diagram for a 2022 gen 3 coyote? Need to run a connection from the vss on my tkx to the cpu. Long story, but installing a digital dash, and they want to run the speed through the cam bus wires. Think I just need to know where to pin the connection on the transmission harness. Think it’s the one with the o2 sensors.

    Thanks
    Bob

I'd call the Ford Performance Tech line. They're usually pretty good about sending out wiring diagrams in pdf form. 1-800-367-3788

Spoke with them already. They couldn’t figure it out and advised I e-mail ford performance. Can’t make this up.

Yeah it can be frustrating dealing with some of their tech "experts". In general I have had good results talking with most, but some not so much. I have the wiring diagrams for the 2nd Gen Coyote. So I know personally they have shared those diagrams in the past. The Gen 3 is no longer their production engine, so you would think that after 5 years of production, that those diagrams are available. Keep asking both via voice and email and you will eventually get to the right person. The bad think about email is it can take weeks to get a response if any.
You could try to ask on the forum if anyone has a contact name and number at Ford Performance that has been helpful in the past.

Don't know how much this helps. I know we've PM'd a couple times and I haven't been much help. Google search found these PCM pinouts: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/thr...8-2016.136824/. Somehow you need to get the VSS signal onto the CAN bus where I'm sure your digital dash would be reading it. Not sure how the PCM translates the pulse from the VSS to an actual speed number though. When you look at the ODB2 data from the Ford Performance crate motor system, it has a position for speed data. But it's blank. Don't know if that means it just doesn't have data. Or maybe they don't even have the calibration of the PCM set to receive it.

While I personally haven't used them or even talked to them, I regularly hear PBH Performance is an expert on Coyote swaps and all the details. Maybe they would be a source to check. My experience with Ford Performance support has also usually been a bit disappointing. They used to have some experts on there. But now unfortunately gone. Lately all I get is very stock answers and anything detailed requires further checking which may/may not happen.

I will suggest the VSS signal from the transmission is not directly compatible with the CAN Bus protocol. CAN Bus is a form of a local area network and sends messages, not pulses or static voltages. I would expect that someone makes a translator that creates CAN Bus messages from the VSS signals.
I agree that PBH would be a good group to contact. Another would be someone like US Shift that makes transmission controllers. They may be able to help or one of the above can hopefully point you in the right direction.

    Bob,

I have been off the forums a little bit and just noticed your post. I am not quite sure of the pin out structure, but this website has the information https://forum.hptuners.com/showthrea...Harness-pinout. You will need to create an account to get the pdfs. Another option would be to request from Tony to send you a gps module sensor and that will plug directly into the interface box. He might have to do a remote program for that option. That will get you GPS speed.

He's hell bent on running it through the can bus. I've asked a few times to just send me a ups label, and I'd pay him for his time to change it. I've called ford performance, emailed them, and asked anyone that I thought might know. Just going in circles at this point.

I’m running into this myself now. If anyone happens to have an answer for this I’m all ears. In the meantime I’ll reach out to PBH and US Shift and report back what they say.

I was able to get the pinout diagram from Ford Performance Tech line. The first person told me to email them, but the second time I called I got someone who knew how to find the PDF. I don’t see VSS on there, but I do see OSS. Wondering if that’s what gets used. Also reached out to PBH and still going back and forth with them. They’ve been great, but they’re also in FL though and I’m sure they have a much bigger problem than me this week named Milton.
