    9.5 Front Wheels

    Hi all,

    Looking at possibly using off the shelf 9.5 wheels with 6.23 backspace (Wilwood upgrade brakes). Looking at the numbers, these will most likely stick out from the fenders by at least a 1/4".

    Has anyone had any luck with 9.5 wheel without being more than flush with the fender?

    I think I may need to settle for fully custom or smaller than 255 tires....

    I upgraded my wheel tire combination this year.
    The wheels were off the shelf items from American Muscle.
    This combo is 17X9 with 255/40-17 up front with 18X10 running 295/35-18's out back.
    My front tires are 25.08" tall while the rears are 26.18" tall.
    I don't know if this helps or not but take a look.

    I’m doing this now. I’m still building but I have test fit the wheels. I want them to push the fender boundary a bit. You can see pics in my current build thread.

    I think you will be fine. Take a 9" wheel w/ 6.0" BS as standard. You are adding 1/2" total width. The 6.23" BS means you are adding 1/4" on the outside and 1/4" on the inside. While the wheel lip and some of the sidewall will be sticking out further relative to the fender, the tread width should be in the same position as 9" wheel.

    Hi all,

    Thanks for the replies....
    after some additional adjustments to the alignment geometry and setting the suspension ride height close to where it will be, I think this will look pretty good with an aggressive stance.

    You will find a little negative camber will tuck in the top of the wheel more and have the added effect of better cornering.
