    Colorado Cobra Powder Coating

Just a quick shout out to all the folks that have blazed a path with home powder coating kits. I followed Junbug’s build and saw he had great results. He got a bunch of tips from other members of the community.

I have a torn rotator cuff so not really able to do much of anything on the car right now which meant I had some time to set up my home kit. The longest part was figuring how to set everything up. Once I figured out how to do everything in took like 30 seconds to coat the part and about 15 minutes to bake it. It looks great for my first piece. Very happy…

Thanks to everyone that offers advice and constructive coaching. It’s appreciated.

    Dan

Edit: ugh I just realized I posted this in the build thread. If the mods can move that would be great.

    Nice job

I learned to powder coat too for my build. I've really enjoyed it.

I have an old oven I got on Marketplace, but am contemplating building a big enough oven to do all my body panels. I'm just not sure I want to deal with the sandblasting...

I have seen that. Seems very doable, particularly if you don't bother with the lights and recirculating ducting. Probably doesn't need to be 6.5' tall either.

The price of sheet metal scared me away until I found a local Metal Supermarket that lets me get large cut-offs by the pound super cheap.
