I had American Collectors and changed to American Modern. Cost was about 60% less.

UPDATE: I'm still in the fact finding process. I called Midwest Classic Ins. as advised here. Great people. Robbin was out of town for the week so I talked to Norma. She got me quotes with Modern Ins. and Hagerty. I also had an agent in Rhode Island (family friend type relationship) who wanted to compete so I let him search for insurance as well, not expecting much. For the record, I live in South Carolina.
I wanted to compare "apples to apples" so I specified the same parameters: $300 K liability per accident, zero deductible, 50K agreed upon value, 3000 mileage limit. Interestingly, I was told that both Hagerty and Modern just use a mileage "value" but don't require pictures of my odometer. I say this because my current policy, thru American Collectors, wants a yearly picture of my odometer. And finally, I called Grundy directly and was told they don't have a mileage tier or limit, I just have to agree to "pleasure use only". And, oh yeah... my vehicle is stored at my home in a cinder block building, I have a very high credit score, and have no accidents or moving violations on my record. The quotes are all OVER the place.
.
1) Grundy (called directly) $692
.
2) Hagerty (thru Midwest Ins, and opting out of the $70 Drivers Club) $814
.
3) Modern Insurance (thru Midwest) $800
.
4) Modern Insurance (thru "family friend in RI) $1350
.
I would be grateful for any discussion or input, maybe someone has good or bad experience with certain companies (ex: Modern vs. Hagerty vs. Grundy). Thanks
I pay $701 in CA, with Hagerty thru Midwest, similar coverage and limits to you.

Everyone’s quotes are worthless without a ton of information. Limits matter, drivers in your family matter and most of all location. Florida is home to the worst drivers, especially south Florida. Factor in natural disasters as well.
Also I’ve been told the limits on your other policies matter.

I agree with Kbl7td. Parts used, driver record, overall cost of vehicle. There are a lot of factors. I have $45,000 in parts, and don't have the car yet. Best advice is to do a lot of research.
