Hi Gents. Anyone off the top of their head know the torque for the rear CV axle nut? Not listed in build manual.
Thank you.

Hot rod manual says 98 ft-lbs/133 N-m then 45 degrees. Same axle so I can't see why the values would be any different.

Built by me 302 engine, AOD trans, 3.55 IRS.
For the IRS, page 275 calls it out as the same.

Curt77,
Here's a quick sidenote. Early in the build, finding specs in the 593 page manual became maddening. I went to an office supply store and got some of those little sticky tabs to mark pages. Any time I'm in the manual and find a critical piece of info, it gets a sticky tab. That's been a huge help with torque settings and with the aluminum chassis panels.
The searchable pdf manual is also a huge help.
Just be aware that it's not unheard of for the manual to have incorrect torque specs. For anything Ford-related (engine, IRS, etc.) I always defer to what Ford recommends, vs. what's in the manual.

I recently had the passenger side half shaft out. On reassembly, I torqued the nut to 98 ft-lb, did the extra 45 degrees, but noticed that the brake disc and brake housing were still slightly loose and actually wobbled. The Nut was not fully clamping everything together. I needed to apply more than another 45 degrees or even 90 degrees more totally to the nut to secure everything. In this process I did the first "extra" 45 degrees and definitely noticed that the looseness/wobble were much diminished. Another 45 degrees eliminated the looseness and wobble. Rotation of the disc seemed OK, not binding, so I left it all at that. So far with a few hundred miles driven everything seems nominal.
