    Thanks Dave!

I been driving my Cobra around New England for 26 years. In that time I've made many friends brought together by these unique cars. In this neck of the woods most are driving Factory Five cars. Clearly this community is about much more than big horsepower in small sports cars, it is a family. A family that steps up when the call is made. Yesterday we ran our 3rd annual fall cruise and had a decent attendance of 15 cars. Not bad for a day with morning temps in the 30's. This year I added a charity component by asking each person to donate $50 to I AM ALS, an organization helping ALS patients and their families. As we were finishing lunch, Kim handed me a wonderful and touching surprise. A generous check from Dave Smith. It was completely unexpected and brought our total donations to over $3,500.
There is no doubt that Factory Five is operated by a man who is interested in more than profits. You judge a person by their deeds and not their words. Time and again Dave Smith has demonstrated his compassion. Thank you Dave. Thanks for the donation, and thanks for the community that your excellent cars have brought together.

I've been a member of this "family" since 1998 when I first met Dave on a Saturday morning at his place in Wareham. I was on the verge of buying another manufacturers Cobra kit when someone told me about FFR. I called on a Friday afternoon and Dave answered the call and invited me down for a visit which I took him up on the next day. It was quite a welcoming with a ride with Dave in his then silver race car, a toss of the keys to another vehicle to test drive and probably most important was a informal talk with Dave about his ideas in general and his cars. I ordered my first kit the following Monday based mostly on my faith in Dave and his business practices. I have never been let down over all these years and multiple builds.

What a great cruise. Very well organized and the road selection was top notch. All and All a great day for a good cause. Kudo's to Dave and FFR for stepping up.
