Thread: 289 doesn't use the trunk latch......correct?

    289 doesn't use the trunk latch......correct?

    So sorry to be dense, but if I understand correctly the mechanical latch for the trunk that came in the kit isn't used and instead one puts the handle on and then the bungee arrangement to hold the trunk lid down? Is that what you guys did/are doing?

    I don’t know for sure but I was assuming that the bungee was in addition to the latch handle.
    My plan is to just use the handle/latch and not use the bungee.

    Either or. Your preference but I would just make the latch functional. I never used the bungee myself

    Mine also has both installed. I feel like the bungee is more cosmetic.
