Recovery Tank in Place of T-Filler
I’m replacing my rad with an FFR rad, Breeze upper and lower mounts and Breeze lower hose kit.
I am hung up on which recovery tank would look and function best (cooling, space, etc) and am stuck in a bit of an “analysis-paralysis” state.
I have Franks (IE427) suggested Gates 21211 hose for “cleaning up” the t-filler line but really dislike the hose cutting straight across the engine bay. Sure like how the Roush/Backdraft is routed up top. Much cleaner.
I saw on one of Franks videos where it appears in a very brief clip, he has plumbed a recovery tank to function as both a t-filler and recovery tank. (Picture attached) I really like this idea as I feel the t-filler in our standard setup looks ugly and out of place.
It appears in the clip he’s tig’d a rad hose inlet and outlet to the tank but I can’t quite tell if the overflow tube goes out beside the cap and simply routes right back down, under the same tank. Or is that an additional recovery tank (round cylinder that looks similar to the FFR recovery tank) to the right of the plumbed tank?
I have many years of aluminum fab experience and both Mig and Tig welders and to do a little custom work is no big deal.
Can anyone advise on this setup or suggest something different?

If you can fabricate something like this it has served me well for many years. It puts the fill point at the highest point in the system, has a sight glass to make sure it's filled properly, and just enough space to do what it needs to do. BTW, it is plumbed to a larger expansion tank on the 3/4" rails, then to an overflow tank.
Here is the part: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/d...SABEgKFzPD_BwE. You also need a right angle adapter. Seems like someone here on the forum sourced that, but I don't recall who for sure, but Mike Forte comes to mind.

TD Motion has a nice, and pricey, filler - thermostat housing combo for SBF. https://tdmotion.com/product/427w-fo...t-housing-kit/
I just replaced the whole FFR mess with a Moroso filler and a Gates hosed that I cut up and pieced together. I can research the PN if you’re interested. I am much happier with the new look.

Wow that’s a very nice piece. Thanks for sharing that link. I think that’s the way I’ll go when ready.

Doc76,
The hose I had is a Continental E70621... For a 1975 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham... because that's the kind of classy guy that I am!
Needless to say, with an application like the Cadillac, you get lots of hose and lots of twists and turns... plenty of material to work with.
I'm about $50 all in for the Moroso filler T and the hose. After working out which bits of the hose to use I cut out little half-circles on each side of the filler cap so that everything marries up cleanly. Used a sharpy to color the Moroso piece where there might be a visible gap. While I like the TDMotion piece a lot, it's hard to justify $500. Maybe another time.

Thanks for sharing. Me too on the fancy one. By the time I pay shipping, taxes and import fees to Canada, that TDMotion one is pushing +$800 CAD!
Pretty tough to justify
