Tie Rod Part Number?
I have the power steering rack provided by FFR for the MKIV. One of the tie rods came with some rust on the threads so I want to replace it. Does anyone know the part number for the tie rod. I thought the rack was off a 3 Ltr '84 Mustang but I'm not sure.

The FFR power racks are based on Fox Mustang units but have tie rod extenders. When the extenders are used the actual tie rods usually have to be shortened therefore I'm not sure that an "off the shelf" parts store replacement will be a direct fit. Can't you just clean it up?

Its the threads that have the rust and I have tried to clean it off but they are just too far gone.

Did you run a die over them?

My fear is that even after running the die the threads are just too ate up.

I bought these for my Daytona Coupe, same power steering rack as my 289, so I'm sure they'll work for your MKIV: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOG-ES2150RL
These are the ones recommended by EdwardB to replace the originals supplied by FFR.

Many details on my Coupe-R are different from a typical Coupe build because mine is not street legal, race only.

The original poster is talking about the inner tie rod, not the outer.
Wingman, in the case of inner tie rods for a Fox Mustang rack they are all the same from 1979 through 1993. Since this is what the Factory Five rack is derived from I'd expect that they'll fit however because the FFR rack has extenders installed at the inner joint don't be surprised if you need to cut down the end that mates to the tie rod end.
