Anyone using a Quick Jack or similar lift??

    Hi All -

I know this is somewhat off center from the Cobra, but I know people are using lifts to work on their vehicles.

Is anyone using a Quick Jack or similar device? I would really like a lift and cannot fit a 4 post. New construction garages just are not that big anymore.

Please let me know if oyu are, how you like it and what you have.

    TIA,

    Mark

I have built several cars ranging from Model A Fords to most recently an A Body Mopar. I love my QuickJack system and look forward to using it for my next project, a FFR roadster.

I have the 7000TLX and plan on using for my build. So far I've just used them to change the wheels on my wife's car. They take a bit of setting up but once you get the hang of them they work very well.

Most of the pro builders use them! I have a 5000 rated one and love it! Used on my FFR and daily drivers. It's low enough for me to just drive over with my roadster.

I used mine to change my oil pan and a friend used them to change oil in his Mk3. Another used them to drop his TKX and change the clutch. I can't remember what I paid for them but I did buy them from Costco for I think a good price.

I've used them on both my builds. Very useful to get the car in the air but I usually place jack stands then remove the quick-jacks if I need to get under the car as they are bulky.

I just ordered a pair, could not find them at Costco online, but used the link for the open box and got some pinch seam blocks as well. Now I have to figure out where I can store them....Free Shipping to boot

I ordered the open box 5000 per my link and received them yesterday by UPS with free shipping. From what I can tell there didn't seem to be anything open box about the ones I received, it looked like the original packaging and nothing looked to have ever been opened or disturbed. I plan on setting them up today and testing them out.

A note on set up for the quick jacks, I don't know if I read it or saw it on YouTube:

The provided liquid thread sealer needs to set up for 24 hours before use.

I did that and it worked great, no leaks.

Same - we have a one car garage with a door that when open leaves me little room for tall jack posts. Quick Jack has worked quite well!

I have a QJ5000 bought on sale at Costco and one thing to know is that because the frame rails are pretty narrow on the roadster if you have to do any work down the center of the car like install a driveshaft safety loop it is a very tight squeeze between the quick jack. I'm not a big guy and barely squeezed my shoulders flat on my back to do the installation.

True although I found by moving the Quickjacks out as far as possible from the car centerline there's enough room to work. The Quickjacks are about 8-10" wide and you don't have to have the frame tube in the center of them.
