LS3 with 6L80-E, does it fit in a Hot Rod Truck chassis

I've recently placed my Hot Rod Truck order (6/15/2024 targeted completion) and I'm trying to finalize my drivetrain. I've seen a couple references on the forum to the Connect and Cruise L3/6L80-E package option, but I haven' seen positive confirmation that the combination worked in the truck chassis without modification. There is some speculation that the large rear portion of the transmission may cause fitment issues.

Is anyone running this setup and was any customization needed to make it fit? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have the same question but about a '33 hot rod. Did you ever get any guidance? What did you end up doing?

    Thx.

    Hi Folks
Several other posts have noted that some trimming of the chassis is needed to clear part of the transmission. You should expect to have to adjust things as you build one of these kits. They are a great start, but with all of the possible variations, you will need to be responsible about making the decisions to get things to work. Call Factory Five and ask them as well as they talk to lots of folks and can give you many details.
Check out some of the builds in the forum (like EdwardB) and you will see where he trimmed the chassis.

    Have fun!!!

    Gentlemen:

    - I have a 33 Ford Roadster & I'm looking @ a Engine/Trans 'Swap'
    - My choices have been either the LS3 w/ the 4L65-E [which includes the ECU], or a ZZ6 w/the 200R4 [which avoids all of the "Electronics"]
    - I would appreciate any thoughts, successes, failures, regrets, or advice any have experienced
    - Love the looks of the LS3 & Aluminum Block, but greatly dislike all of the electronics for the ECU.
    - The 33 Roadster is a Cruiser, not a Race Car!
    - I realize this is a 'Old Thread', but if you stumble across it, be thankful for all thoughts.

    Thanks, in advance.IMG_5509 -6.jpg

Ninja, I bought an LS3 and 4L65e with the ECU's and wiring harnesses from GM Connect and Cruise back in 2018.
The wiring is straight forward, plug and play. All the connectors are labeled.
If you do use the LS3 a number of us can help you out with any questions you may have.

Some knock the looks of the coils mounted to the valve covers, I covered them up with these.
I replaced the GM fuel rail with Holley Sniper parts.

Love your LS engine dress-up. I've been looking at alternative intakes, but what you did looks great and probably most cost-effective.
