Fuse box on passenger side
Hi there -
I'm at wiring stage and have been staring at the mess of wires and reading posts here to come up with a plan. I read a post from Feb 2024 on moving the fuse box to the passenger side. Looks like GoDadGo and then ryanstory went this route. For you guys and others that have done this, I was looking for any additional advice on making the move.
It appears I'll need to:
1) make a bracket to hold the fuse panel under the dash (or use a dash filler plate and cut a hole in it).
2) move the horns to the passenger side in the engine bay
3) rewire the turn signals to swap left/right
4) extend the wires for the brake and clutch safety switches to the pedal box
5) other...?
I haven't looked ahead in the manual, but there is a space to the right of the firewall, and I'd like to run the front harness there (picture below). Any issues with this? I do not have a heater, wipers or glovebox.
I'm resisting the urge to diet the wiring harness so I can get on the road sooner than later...but we'll see.
Thanks, Joel

The guys at the school house mount it on the drivers side but they mount it with a piano hinge at one end and a single screw at the other, undo the screw and it all swings down making it easy to get to. That might be a less complicated option.

I put my fusebox on the passenger side of the dashboard with a cover over top. When the cover is removed, everything is visible through the windshield. No need to stand on your head to access!

Just realize that every choice you make for the location of things limit your choices down the road for other items (e.g. heater, AC, mounting for fuel pressure regulator, mounting for mechanical throttle assembly). My ignition module (for others the ECU) is mounted on the passenger side, along with some of the wiring. I guess my point is, make a plan for everything now and what you might do in the future or you could find your options limited. Make sure your plan includes maintenance accessibility. It's never perfect, but the more planning up front, the less headaches down the road.

I've been street legal for a few years and moving the fuse block over has kept it high and dry.

I put mine in the trunk, so obviously it's not the RF harness, and thus this post is probably no use to you.
