    Window Tint for rear hatch

Im close to permanently mounting the rear hatch glass and thought it would be much easier to apply the tint prior to mounting. I called a local place and was given a price of $400 for 35% standard tint or close to $500 if I prefered ceramic tint. It seems extremely high and considering attempting it myself with the risk of it not working due to multiple curves. Any thoughts on a particular brand?
    Thanks,
    Brandon

    I'd be interested as well

Erik Treves has a guy that looks to do awesome work with the Coupe hatch. Have heard it's quite difficult.

I didn't ask what it cost though

Couple years ago I paid $250 for a 32% tint. Got it done prior to final assembly which was much easier.

I just ordered a 40 in X 10 Ft roll from Northern Tint which is ceramic 35% for $65 free shipping. I did watch a couple videos on installing compound lines and using a heat gun is necessary to shrink the tint. Im going to give it a try and see how it goes for that amount of savings. If it goes well I will have enough left over Ill be happy to give the remainder to one of you guys if anyone wants it.

I had a quote of $600 on mine. Needless to say it didn't happen. I would be interested in your leftover material.

Yep had mine done early as well. before the build was complete. don't remember the cost (not cheap) but i did try it myself the first time and it was terrible. Had to search to find a local guy with a wide enough roll so it would not have a seam in it. been one summer with it and driving my Coupe. cant image not having it. it still heats up and you can feel it, especially when the sun is coming in from behind. still thinking of some sort of clear panel or a sheet of clear flexible plastic that can easily be mounted and dismounted to the roll bar. That would give the AC a better fitting chance to cool the drivers area. Doug

I had mine done for $275. mid grade, ceramic, 20%. The glass still gets very hot and can radiate heat but the surfaces inside the car are only warm to the touch.
