Since the early days of auto racing, Factory teams, and factory supported teams have had To contend with individuals driving homolgated street cars. Often these racers had access to parts, tires, etc. that due to publicity and sponsorship agreements were off limits to the factory teams. At tracks like Lime Rock in the east,and Willow Springs in the west, it was not unusual to see these individuals pulling into pit row in the car they had driven to the track. After A few hours of tweaking,
they’d race these cars, often giving the Factory teams a real run for their money, and sometimes taking the checkered flag.
These amateur Racers were known as “Privateers”
Started engine build Thanksgiving 2016, first start March 26,2017
Engine was built around a CREB_engines short block,
Seasoned block, burnt and blasted
Squared up deck surface
Lifter bores gauged and honed
Line honed
Cylinders bored .030
Cylinders honed with honing plates
ARP@ main bolts
Coated Sealed Power .030 over, Hyperheutectic Pistons
9:1 compression
The piston rings are moly
Rod and main bearings are Federal Mogul
Brass freeze plugs
Dura bond cam bearings
Crank is a re-ground stock 302 crank 50oz
Rods are magnafluxed factory 5.0 style
I gave them my cam(Edelbrock 2221), lifters, spider, and timing set (comp cams)they degreed the cam. Heads are 190 cc aluminum heads from Quantico cyl.heads, 2.02 intakes,1.60 exhausts. Valve springs are Edelbrock, matched to the cam. Pushrods are Trickflow, roller rockers are Scorpion. Intake manifold is an Edelbrock RPM Airgap topped with a Holley Sniper EFI. Spark is provided by a Pertronix Flamethrower distributor. Headers are Bbk.

IRS components came from a 2016 mustang gt with 6k miles. 3:55 gear ratio. Transmission is a TKO600,hydraulic clutch setup and all clutch components from Mike Forte. Mid shift kit with Hurst shift lever and knob.
Brakes have drilled and slotted rotors, 11.67 frt. 13.00 rr. and Powerstop pads, front and rear.
Russ Thompson gas pedal and Forte’s mechanical throttle linkage.
Bob Boig’s cooltubes radiator “hoses”, and his “quieter pipes” treatment performed on the sidepipes. The sidepipes as supplied by FFR were basically straight pipes and were unpleasantly loud.

Tires new in 2017, less than 1200 miles. 245/45-17 frt. 275/40-17 rear. Car has always been kept in a heated/air conditioned garage.
Kirkey vintage race seat, drivers side. Factory five roadster seat, passenger side.
Replica Lucas tribar headlights. Factory five sun visors and wind wings. Drivers side black powder coated roll bar with “petty” bar.
Optional passenger side 2 point roll bar. Quick release steering wheel for easy entry and exit.
Picked up the kit mid September 2017. Road legal June 26th 2018. Drove it that summer/fall in gelcoat, went to body/paint March of 2019. Back on the road, painted, July 5th 2019. Color is 2013 Mini #870 Electric Blue
Car has a lifetime Massachusetts emissions exemption for.
The asking price is what I spent on the kit, parts, and the bodywork/paint. No labor.
To duplicate this build, today, kit, parts, and paint would cost more than $70k
