My TKX seems too low and my driveshaft angles up?

2022 MK4 IRS with SBF: my driveshaft has a pronounced angle up after the forward u-joint. Also, my shifter stub seems a bit low. If I lay a strait edge across the tunnel, it bisects the two shifter holes exactly. Is this height correct or did I miss something? Thx

Most have to shim the trans mount, usually 1/2 to 3/4".
This should raise everything to work.
I loosen the motor mounts to do this.

I just installed my TKX and 427W a few weekends ago. I also have IRS. I bolted on three of Forte's shims right out of the gate, since that seems to be what most folks do. Mine seems to have no crazy angles. I haven't measured my angles, but probably won't, as it looks pretty good as-is.

I, too, have a MkIV with TKX, IRS, and SBF 302 that I recently installed. I'm with gbranham/Greg. I went ahead and used 3 Forte shims during initial install and everything lined up near perfectly. I still haven't go-carted, so I can't give any input on running or vibration yet. I don't expect any issues, though.

Oh I get that, I’ve got hundreds of hours here, but missed the need to shim the gearbox.

That’s because it’s not universal and will vary depending on engine, transmission and rear suspension.

On both of my builds, I realized shortly after assembling all the suspension bits that I was no longer using the manual. So much of the build after that point is unique to each car; I didn't find much value in the manual at that point. And even for assembling the suspension, I mostly used it as reference to ensure I was using the right bolt in the right spot.

Just to do a quick check find anything including a piece of plywood that you can make into a 3/4" spacer. Pull up on the trans and slip it under. You don't even need to bolt it as it is just an eyeball check to see if things look better.
